The Ogre
This is a mountain ogre character that I created and designed in my spare time. It´s inspired by European folklore surrounding ogres and other man-eating giants. The goal was to capture a brutal, primal presence while staying grounded in classic mythological references, with aesthetic influences from Todd McFarlane.
I used this character to run multiple render tests across different software, including Unreal Engine, Marmoset Toolbag, and Arnold, in order to explore lighting, shading, and real-time versus offline rendering workflows.
The model was created in Maya, then sculpted and textured in Mudbox. Rigging and animation were also done in Maya, and both the rig and animations were successfully exported to and implemented in Unreal Engine.
